Simple for everyday users. Secure by design.
We match the access system to your users, site layout, mobile signal, internet connection and level of control. Everything is configured and demonstrated before handover.
ACCESS CONTROL OPTIONS
Choose how people enter
From a simple family keypad to multi-user commercial entry management, the system should match the way the property is used.

Video intercoms
See and speak to visitors from inside the property or through a connected mobile app before opening the gate.

Keypads and fobs
Reliable code or fob entry for families, staff, contractors and regular visitors without sharing remotes.

Mobile and ANPR access
Remote app control and automatic number-plate recognition for advanced residential and commercial access.
HOW IT WORKS
From requirements to working system
We plan the access control around the gate, users, connectivity and existing security equipment.
01
Site assessment
We review the gate, number of users, signal, network and existing controls.
02
System recommendation
You receive a practical proposal based on how the entrance is used.
03
Installation and integration
Entry devices, cabling and controls are installed and connected to the gate.
04
Setup and demonstration
Users, codes and devices are configured before the system is handed over.

NEW AND EXISTING GATES
Access control integrated with the whole entrance.
Good access control is more than the device on the pillar. We consider power, cabling, mobile or WiFi signal, user management and how the system will trigger the gate safely.

Gate access control FAQs
1. Can access control be added to an existing electric gate?
Usually, yes. Intercoms, keypads, fob readers and mobile controls can often be connected to an existing automatic gate. We first check the gate automation, control panel, electrical supply, cabling and safety condition. Compatibility varies between manufacturers, so we inspect the existing system before recommending equipment or confirming an installation price.
2. How much does a gate access control system cost?
The cost depends on the chosen equipment and installation requirements. A straightforward keypad or fob system costs less than a video intercom, smartphone-connected system or automatic number-plate recognition. Cabling distance, electrical work, mobile signal, user numbers and integration with existing equipment also affect the price. We provide a free survey followed by a written quotation for the complete system.
3. What is the difference between GSM and Wi-Fi gate intercoms?
A GSM intercom uses the mobile network and normally requires a suitable SIM card and mobile signal. When a visitor presses the intercom, it calls one or more programmed telephone numbers. A Wi-Fi or internet-connected intercom uses the property’s network and a compatible mobile app. We check connectivity at the entrance before recommending either option.
4. Can I open my electric gates using my phone?
Yes. Compatible access-control systems allow you to open and close the gates using a smartphone app, telephone call or video-intercom notification. This can let you manage visitors and deliveries while you’re inside the property or away from home. Remote access should be configured securely and provided only to authorised users.
5. Can I see and speak to visitors before opening the gate?
Yes. A video intercom lets you see and speak to visitors before deciding whether to grant access. Depending on the system, calls can be received on an indoor monitor, smartphone or both. Some systems also offer missed-call images, event history or video recording, although storage arrangements and subscription costs vary between products.
6. What happens if I lose a gate fob?
A lost fob should be removed from the system as soon as possible so it can no longer operate the gate. A replacement fob can then be programmed for the authorised user. Individually managed fobs are particularly useful for businesses and shared developments because one missing credential can be disabled without replacing every user’s fob.
7. Can gate keypad codes be changed?
Yes. Keypad codes can normally be changed when a code has been shared, an employee leaves or temporary access is no longer needed. Some systems support several individual or time-limited codes, allowing separate access for family members, employees, cleaners, carers or contractors. Available features depend on the selected keypad and controller.
8. What is ANPR gate access?
ANPR stands for Automatic Number Plate Recognition. A camera reads an approaching vehicle’s registration and compares it with an approved list. If the number plate is authorised, the system signals the gate or barrier to open. ANPR can be useful for offices, managed car parks, industrial premises and residential sites with regular vehicle users.
9. Can an intercom call more than one phone?
Many GSM and app-connected intercoms can contact several authorised users. The system may call the numbers in a chosen order or notify multiple app users, depending on the equipment. This is useful for households, offices and shared entrances where more than one person may need to answer visitors. We configure the users and demonstrate the system during handover.
10. What happens if the internet or mobile network goes down?
This depends on the system. A Wi-Fi intercom may lose remote app functions if the internet connection fails, while a GSM system depends on its mobile network and SIM service. Local controls such as fobs, keypads or internal release buttons may continue operating if they’re configured separately. We can recommend backup access methods so you’re not relying on one connection alone.
11. Are there ongoing charges for gate access control?
Some systems have no regular fee beyond electricity, while others require a SIM plan, mobile data, cloud storage, software licence or app subscription. Video recording and remotely managed commercial systems are more likely to have ongoing charges. We’ll explain any expected fees before installation so you can compare the full cost rather than only the equipment price.
12. Can you install access control for businesses and shared entrances?
Yes. We install access-control systems for offices, workshops, managed developments, car parks and other commercial entrances across Glasgow. Available options include individually managed fobs, swipe cards, keypads, video intercoms, timed access and ANPR. We consider the number of users, traffic level, visitor process, emergency access and how easily permissions need to be changed.
13. How long does access control installation take?
A simple keypad, fob reader or intercom upgrade may be completed during a single planned visit if suitable power, cabling and gate connections already exist. Systems requiring new underground cabling, network equipment, several entry points or commercial user programming take longer. The installation requirements and expected timescale will be confirmed after the survey.
14. Is gate access control secure?
A properly selected and configured system gives you greater control over who can operate the entrance. Security depends on the equipment, installation, password management and how quickly lost fobs or compromised codes are removed. No system should rely on a widely shared permanent code. We configure authorised users and explain how to manage access securely during handover.
